The new Spring/Summer 2021 collection is inspired by the warm colors and boundless vistas of the world’s most beautiful deserts.
Did you know that deserts are vital to the planetary ecosystem? They cover about 20 percent of the earth’s surface. They are also among the most fragile and on the way to extinction .
Immense expanses of dunes , monuments eroded by sun and wind, creatures that look like something out of a fantasy novel. This is how we imagine the desert: an inhospitable and exotic place where time seems to stand still. In fact, although they appear as an indistinct mass of sand and rocks deserts are vivid and striking places from which we drew inspiration for the new collection Spring – Summer Of Simplicitas.
Here’s what inspired us
Forget safari style or the bright colors of the tropical forest. In desert dominate the warm tones , simple and discrete of the earth . Breathtaking landscapes, golden sand as far as the eye can see veined by the wind, tall dunes pointing to the horizon and silhouetted against the blue sky. But that’s not all: each desert tells a different story and has a charm that allows us to travel with imagination.
We got inspired by some of the world’s most iconic deserts by creating the Desert collection Spring/Summer 2021 composed of pragmatic, functional and essential garments. Soothing neutral colors combined with black and white for a timeless look.
At the heart of the collection are the chemisier dresses, which are inspired by the classic men’s shirt while replicating its details: collar, front buttoning, simple cut and understated finish . This versatile garment is suitable for all kinds of occasions and goes well with every silhouette enhancing the figure of the wearer. No snug fits and dresses that fall perfectly but oversize fit Allowing us freedom of movement. The clothes in the Simplicitas collection are made strictly from sustainable fabrics, more comfortable and breathable. In particular, we use Organic cotton e Tencel.
Organic cotton offers the highest quality with the least environmental impact by using non-harmful substances that require little water consumption. We use only certified organic cotton GOTS , the leading standard for sustainable garment production.
The Tencel is a type of lyocell sourced from eucalyptus trees grown by certified farms FSC. It is produced by Lenzing according to a highly sustainable, closed-loop process in which the solvents and water used are almost 100% recovered. It is soft on the skin, elastic, durable and breathable.

Sonoran Dress

Sahara Dress
This chemisier dress is inspired by one of the world’s most spectacular deserts, the Sahara, known for its striking landscapes, colors of different hues and impressive natural sculptures of red rock.
For our dress, we chose a neutral, reassuring color that reminds us of that of sand in the early morning hours. The simplicity of the minimal design is offset by the side slits making the oversize fit elegant and sensual.
The three-quarter sleeve makes it ideal for summer nights spent on the beach wearing sneakers, sandals or espadrilles.

Joshua Dress
Long-sleeve variation of the chemisier dress in a beautiful khaki green, made of the softest Lyocell.
A perfect dress for cool summer evenings. Named after the charming Joshua Tree located in the most scenic parks in southeastern California, famous for its distinctive shape that resembles arms to the sky.
The shape and color of thedress echo those of the tree’s trunk. The leaves, on the other hand, are dark green, linear and elongated in shape: wide at the base, they taper toward the tip, creating dense spirals at the ends of the branches.
The particular shape of the leaves inspired us: the slight curl on the sleeve recalls precisely the intricate foliage of the tree from which the dress is also named.

Namib Top and Pants
In the collection we also find the broken suit consisting of top and pants made of cool beige organic cotton that provides maximum comfort.
Straight pants with drawstring waist allow us to adjust and adapt it to the wearer’s physique. The design is minimal and relaxed, made unique by welt pockets.
Minimal design also for the top, complemented by a square neckline inspired by the shapes and color of desert dunes. Worn, it changes shape with the movement of the body, taking on undulating poses as the desert wind changes the shape of the sand dunes. Wear it for a casual look with matching pants or over a high-waisted skirt and wedges.

Why Deserts?
Our collection focuses on environmental responsibility through the use of environmentally sustainable fabrics with full respect for the environment.
Deserts are part of biodiversity and are very important for our Planet because they can curb global warming by absorbing CO2 emissions. In addition to preserving them, it is important to counter the process of desertification: a process that leads to an irreversible reduction in the capacity of the soil to produce resources and services.
What is Pre-order?
Simplicitas seeks to help Planet Earth through both the use of sustainable fabrics and good manufacturing practices with low environmental impact. That is why we have introduced pre-order. The production of some garments begins only when we receive the order guaranteeing high quality standards: in this way we avoid overproduction, waste of resources and the consequent development of waste.

We believe that the fashion of the future should be as regenerative and circular as possible, which is why we decided to support Seaqual Initiative, an organization that reclaims waste lost to the environment by promoting and supporting ocean cleanup initiatives.

Our Forest: Simplicitas for Treedom
Our love for the environment led us to embark on a journey with Treedom, an organization that allows through its platform to plant trees in all countries of the
world.
For every item purchased on our site you contribute to the growth of the Simplicitas forest by financing the planting of new trees from their first years of life until they are productive.
The trees and their fruits are owned by local farmers allowing them to diversify and supplement their income. Also in the course of their own growth the trees absorb CO2 naturally generating a benefit for the whole planet.
To date ten cocoa trees have been planted in Cameroon but we want our forest to become more and more flourishing and extensive.
